In addition to manufacturing and developing our products, this year Renusol is also participating in the work of the DIN standards committee for the construction industry. We are delighted to be able to announce one of the results of this commitment, which represents a significant improvement and mitigation of negative effects for the companies, installers and customers involved in the industry in the wake of the energy revolution.

Several companies in the solar industry, including Renusol and the German Solar Industry Association, submitted written objections to a draft standard and defended it in an objection session. In this objection proceeding, a regulation was discussed which would have changed the normative approach with regards to snow loads in Germany for buildings with photovoltaic systems. In the original version, this adapted approach would have led to a significant (25-50%) increase in the snow loads to be applied for many buildings with flat roofs. As a consequence, PV projects on many new buildings would no longer have been feasible.

We would like to thank all those involved for their cooperative work and look forward to many more exciting projects.
