From Intersolar to Solar & Storage Live: celebrating 2023

It feels like yesterday that we were looking back on a summer of solar events and eagerly anticipating what this winter had in store for us at Renusol. But 2024 is fast approaching, and it is time for us to reflect on what a successful year we have had!

Expectedly, 2023 has been huge for the PV industry. As the world has sought to speed up the transition away from unreliable fossil fuels amidst global conflicts, Germany invested heavily in solar power — making massive progress towards its goal of achieving 9 GW of installed capacity by December. And with so much going on, this years’ events have been particularly noteworthy, offering solar professionals the opportunity to unite amid so many developments.

Renusol has been privileged to attend several of these events over the last 12 months, but we know that not everyone had the chance to join us each time. So, here is a whistlestop tour of some of the events we attended in 2023 for anyone who missed out or, like us, wants to reminisce on the good times...

Some of today’s biggest and best PV industry events

At the very start of summer, the Renusol team set the tone for the year ahead with its involvement in the Renewable Energies World Race, which is set in Hauts de France — an area that was once synonymous with coal power, but now hosts ample renewable energy installations.

Opting to partake in the cycling competition rather than the running one, our experts were honoured to get on their bicycles and don their branded jerseys amongst a sea of like-minded entrants all pushing towards the same goal: the phaseout of fossil fuels.

Whilst we might not have taken home the trophy, the phrase ‘it is the taking part that counts’ could not be more relevant to this slightly unconventional solar event. Our involvement represented our active participation in European renewables, and we had a great time riding through the countryside.

In the same month as the Renewable Energies World Race, we also attended Intersolar 2023 on home soil at Messe München in Munich.

As the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry, Intersolar brought together over 85,000 visitors and 1,2500 exhibitors to share knowledge about all sorts of PV industry topics. For example, exhibition participants enjoyed segments on topics like European market developments and large-scale PV plants, as well as system components and mounting solutions.

Stationed at our very own booth during the local three-day event, we were honoured to meet and greet all sorts of solar professionals, including familiar faces and new connections. But we also ventured further afield this year…

The UK’s biggest renewable energy exhibition

In October, Renusol travelled to the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, England to attend the eagerly anticipated Solar & Storage Live exhibition.

Hosting hundreds of solar professionals and experts, including installers and roofers, this event presented the invaluable opportunity for attendees to discover news and insights on everything from global events impacting the PV industry to upskilling.

Naturally, plenty of interesting discussions emerged from the latest Solar & Storage Live event. For instance, installers reported they much prefer the high-quality mounting systems produced in Europe, having tried some of the new components imported from afar. Of course, this feedback was music to our ears as a German manufacturer, and we had lots of fruitful conversations about our portfolio.

Our teams proudly shared details about our latest roof hook: the RH Flat. Especially designed for the UK market, this universal product boasts adjustable components and smaller, narrower dimensions. for quick and easy installation.

We also spoke about our recently upgraded PV-Configurator 3.0, which we cross-linked with SMA Solar Technology AG’s Sunny Design Tool and made available in Croatian this year — allowing users to plan full systems with energy storage in an 11th language!

Plus, we chatted with attendees about the new FS Pro system for flat roofs. Its high pre-assembly and minimal parts list build on the great characteristics of the original FS system, offering greater versatility and simpler installation than ever before.

We were thrilled to see the above be received so well, but the real highlight of this event (and year) was seeing you all face-to-face. We cannot wait to do it all again in 2024!
