A summer of solar events
Something exciting is always happening in the PV industry, whether there are new technologies being tested and developed, important global discussions being had about the future of renewables or progress being made towards national green energy goals. And every new development secures a moment in the spotlight when the industry’s most popular events, such as Intersolar, roll around.
But that is not all solar events are for!
Many occasions in the global renewables PV calendar, like the Renewable Energies World Race, are just about bringing like-minded professionals together to catch up, have some fun and remember what being a champion of green energy is all about.
Renusol has been privileged to attend both Intersolar and the Renewable Energies World Race this summer — hoping to stay up to date with recent news and maintain our active participation in the solar industry. Here is a summary of what went down at each one...
Intersolar 2023
From the 14th to the 16th of June this year, the annual Intersolar exhibition took place at Messe München in Munich, Germany. With more than 85,000 visitors and 1,250 exhibitors in attendance, it was one of the most popular solar events of 2023 — and for good reason.
The most recent exhibition agenda covered everything in PV, including modules, inverters and, our forte: mounting solutions.
We held our very own booth on the three event days, where our teams spoke in detail about our most recent triumphs. For example, we discussed the cross-linking of the PV-Configurator 3.0 with SMA Solar Technology AG’s Sunny Design tool, as well as the fact that it is now available in Croatian. Plus, there were lots of conversations about the RH Flat, which joined the VarioSole+ (VS+) system as our newest universal product designed to reduce the number of roof hooks required per installation by up to 41% and the prototype of the new FS Pro flat roof system with unparalleled versatility and record speed of installation, which will be available in autumn this year.
It was an honour to meet customers face to face at Intersolar and be a part of such a thought-provoking event for another year — especially after gaining so much motivation to support the solar industry at a slightly different event weeks earlier.
The Renewable Energies World Race
Hosted in Hauts de France, a northern region between Calais and Paris, the Renewable Energies World Race consists of a marathon and a cycling competition. Green energy companies are free to participate in either one, and we chose the latter!
On the 3rd of June, our team members biked around an area that was once synonymous with coal power, but now comprises an array of PV plants and other renewable energy installations — making the site a symbol of progress and innovation.
Each cyclist that participated in the Renewable Energies World Race donned the branded jersey of their respective organisations, representing their company’s role in the global journey towards a future where we no longer rely on environmentally damaging fossil fuels.
Despite the obvious suggestions of competition and rivalry, the event is designed to unite professionals in the renewable energy industry and remind us that we are all striving towards the same goal.
Having participated in the race in 2022, it was a pleasure to take to our bikes once again and see some familiar faces on the course going the extra mile for renewable energy.
We had such an excellent time at both Intersolar and the Renewable Energies World Race this summer and cannot wait to make an appearance at many more solar events in the near future. Wherever we end up next, we will be sure to let you all know the details and extend the invitation...
